3 Stars (out of 4)

Sea Monster

By Jeffrey M. Anderson

Mark Robson directed this Val Lewton psychological horror production, and though its arguably the least of the series, it's still excellent. On the title ship, third officer Russell Wade believes that the captain (Richard Dix) has gone crazy and begun murdering members of the crew, but can't prove it. Lawrence Tierney plays a sailor who is crushed to death beneath a giant chain.
