The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh (1977)
A Small Smackerel
By Jeffrey M. Anderson
Released in 1977, The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh is a compilation film made of three shorts, including the Oscar-winning Winnie the Pooh and the Blustery Day (1968). In the movie, Pooh and Piglet try to get some honey from a high tree, Pooh gets stuck in Rabbit's doorway, and they all meet the bouncy Tigger; it's arguably the most laid-back of all Disney movies, and its warm, simple, organic art style is immensely appealing. Though A.A. Milne's stories are still among the cleverest, funniest, and most charming of all children's books, the characters were changed and Disney-fied just a bit for the movie. Today, each maintains its own appeal.
