InAPPropriate Comedy (2013)
The Worst Movie Ever Made
InAPPropriate Comedy was directed by Vince Offer, who's better known as an informercial pitchman for "ShamWow!" towels. That might have been a bad sign, but there's no way anyone could have guessed just how offensive, brutally awful, grossly unfunny, and absolutely poisonous this garbage could have turned out to be.
There may be an effective way to parody reality TV and "Jackass" and to make fun of different sexual orientations, religions, cultures, races, and creeds, but InAPPropriate Comedy most certainly has no idea what that way is.
A man sits in a sewer below a city sidewalk. He blows a fan up a grate and makes Lindsay Lohan's dress billow up, like Marilyn Monroe's in The Seven Year Itch. After looking at Lohan's underwear, the man starts selecting apps on a tablet device, and, with each one, viewers see little sketches -- such as "Flirty Harry," the story of a San Francisco cop (Adrien Brody) who speaks in gay sexual innuendo. "The Amazing Racist" is a hidden camera show whose host (Ari Shaffir) tries to offend as many races, religions, and cultures as possible. "Blackass" is an African-American version of "Jackass" that's even less funny. And Rob Schneider and Michelle Rodriguez play porn movie critics. In the end, Lohan shoots and kills several paparazzi. Huh?
Its approach is mean, clumsy, thoughtless, and callous. The "jokes" inspire anger, aggression, and nausea rather than laughter. During the (unfunny) end-credits bloopers, even the actors look sheepish and embarrassed at what they have been asked to do. You might eventually forgive talented Oscar-winner Brody for his work here, but it's going to be difficult for Schneider and Lohan to come back from this travesty. Upon careful consideration, it's the worst movie I've seen in 15 years of reviewing and a lifetime of movie watching.
