Things of the Road
By Jeffrey M. Anderson In this absorbing, undemanding road picture from Spain, three characters from a small town venture into the big city of San Julian: an old man searches for his lost dog "Badface," a young mother wins a spot on a local TV game show and a traveling salesman tries to deliver a cake to an attractive widow. Bathed in chilly winter air with a fragrance of hot coffee, the film moves at an unhurried pace, taking in the sights and sounds of the various pit stops, and essentially enjoying itself.
