Coming Apart
By Jeffrey M. Anderson To be perfectly honest, I couldn't really follow this convoluted Hong Kong action film, which won several Golden Horse awards in 2005, including one for Aaron Kwok as Best Actor. But there's at least one truly spectacular foot chase through a crowded marketplace and through moving traffic. It has something to do with the murder of a key witness and a long-missing girlfriend. Even the title is nearly meaningless. It appears to be an attempt to duplicate the incredible and very successful Infernal Affairs series. Benny Chan (Who Am I?) directed. Tartan Video decided that the film was worthy of a two-disc set, and so we get a director commentary track, featurettes, trailers, photos and other goodies.
