Learning to Fly
By Jeffrey M. Anderson As one of the world's biggest Nirvana fans, I have at least a passing interest in the Foo Fighters, but this concert video disappointed me. I think it might have been fine to be there in person, but watching on the small screen, some problems of scale arise. This was apparently the biggest show in the band's career, and singer/guitarist/songwriter Dave Grohl is clearly trying too hard to play up to the enormous crowd. (He keeps running around, shouting things like "come on!" at least three times during each song.) And seen close-up, on camera, he appears a bit desperate.
