Stuck on You

This prickly body-horror movie seems to be a metaphor for codependent relationships, although I didn't find that the characters of Tim (Dave Franco) and Millie (Alison Brie) were terribly codependent, just a little stuck. They move to a small town so that Millie can take a job as a schoolteacher. The move forces Tim to reconsider his dreams to become a professional musician. The couple's communication is eerily realistic, never quite able to connect at the same level. While hiking it begins storming and they fall into an underground cave, so they decide to spend the night. Tim drinks from a pool of water, and the next morning their legs are stuck together. Things get worse as Tim finds himself irresistibly, physically drawn to Millie, and, horrifyingly, their flesh starts to meld together. These sequences are unsettlingly well-done; it's a movie that can make you squirm, and the final scene is an unforgettable shocker. Damon Herriman plays Jamie, Millie's boss at the school and confidante.
Neon's Blu-ray release features a DTS-HD 5.1 audio mix and a descriptive audio track. There are optional Spanish & French subtitles.
