Twinless (2025)

3 1/2 Stars (out of 4)

Two Faced

By Jeffrey M. Anderson

James Sweeney's Twinless is essentially a "lie comedy," but one done correctly. The lie is told for emotionally truthful reasons, and the film is structured in such a way that details are revealed sporadically, and intelligently. Roman (Dylan O'Brien) loses his twin brother in an auto accident and begins attending a therapy group. He meets Dennis (Sweeney), and they form a fast friendship. Unfortunately, Roman meets Dennis's colleague Marcie (Aisling Franciosi) and they click, making Dennis jealous. To say more would be to ruin the movie's surprises, as well as its shocks, but suffice to say that it works very well.
