By Jeffrey M. Anderson Famed screenwriter Kevin Williamson makes his directorial debut with hisvery first screenplay (written before Scream) called Teaching Mrs.Tingle. Formerly called Killing Mrs. Tingle, it appears that morethan just the title was changed. A lot of things just don't add up inthis story of a high school senior (Katie Holmes) who holds her historyteacher (Helen Mirren) hostage over a bad grade. The movie feelsunfinished and choppy. There is foreshadowing but no payoff. Even so,with its sophomoric dialogue and half-baked characters, I doubt thismovie would have been much better in its complete form.
