Gunman in the Streets (1950)
French Noir
By Jeffrey M. Anderson This great man-on-the-run film noir from director Frank Tuttle (This Gun for Hire) never saw either American movie screens or American TV screens until now, and this DVD from All Day Entertainment presents the complete uncut print with all the scenes of "violence" included. A prison escapee (Dane Clark) seeks out his old street contacts, including his sexy girlfriend (Simone Signoret), to help him raise some cash and get out of town. But he's been wounded, shot in the shoulder, and time is running out. It's a gripping little film, as nasty and pungent as the best of film noir.
