Legends of the Falls
By Jeffrey M. Anderson Directed by Henry Hathaway, the full-color Niagara shows Marilyn Monroe in an early complex role, starring with Joseph Cotten as an unhappily married couple staying at a Niagara Falls hotel. The story is told from the point of view of happy newlyweds Jean Peters and Max Showalter, who slowly begin to get wind of a sinister plot unfolding behind closed doors. It all ends with a daring chase above the falls. It's considered a lesser Monroe, but I like it.
