Zoo Creeping
By Jeffrey M. Anderson I liked this better the second time around, but it's still not one of my favorite Greenaways. It has something to do with two brothers, recently widowed after a car crash. They experiment with animal and plant decay and begin an affair with the woman driving the car. She lost a leg in the accident and her physician insists on cutting off the other to "restore balance." Otherwise, we get lots of stuff about zoos and the alphabet. It's very circular and never seems to go anywhere, but we also get the sense that Greenaway is having a laugh. Joss Ackland and Geoffrey Palmer are among the familiar faces in the supporting cast. (See also The Draughtsman's Contract).
