The Simpsons: The Twelfth Season (2000)
Bart Me Up
By Jeffrey M. Anderson After twelve years, the greatest TV show of all time may not have equalled its own greatest heights, but it was still far, far better than just about anything else on television (especially in 2000, which was more or less the dawn of the reality TV era in America). What's amazing is how well these nine year-old episodes hold up today. They still pack a punch and are still gut-bustingly funny. (Homer: "It's going to take a lot of explosives to clean up this mess.") The new four-disc DVD box set comes with commentary tracks, deleted scenes and lots and lots of other goodies. It's also packed with little jokes for viewers who are patient enough to find them. The 21 episodes include: Treehouse of Horror XI, A Tale of Two Springfields, Insane Clown Poppy, Lisa the Tree Hugger, Homer vs. Dignity, The Computer Wore Menace Shoes, The Great Money Caper, Skinner's Sense of Snow, HOMR, Pokey Mom, Worst Episode Ever, Tennis the Menace, Day of the Jackanapes, New Kids on the Blecch; Hungry, Hungry Homer; Bye Bye Nerdie, Simpson Safari, Trilogy of Error, I'm Goin' to Praiseland, Children of a Lesser Clod, and Simpsons Tall Tales. Various guest stars include The Who, Drew Barrymore, Stephen King, Patrick McGoohan, Edward Norton, Venus and Serena Williams, Andre Agassi, Gary Coleman, Stacy Keach, Frankie Muniz and Shawn Colvin.
