Winnie the Pooh: Seasons of Giving (1999)
Holiday Fatigue
By Jeffrey M. Anderson For some reason, Disney has deemed that this sub-par, straight-to-video movie from 1999 deserves a 10th anniversary edition. It's a mishmash of lackluster animation in which Pooh and friends wander through a few adventures during Groundhog Day, Thanksgiving and Christmas. The new release comes with a tiny Christmas stocking, making it look as if this will make great holiday viewing. It doesn't; the Christmas episode is really just a framing device for an extended flashback about a lost bird. Some awful songs pop up from time to time. The DVD also comes with some kids' activities and a couple of episodes from "The New Adventures of Winnie the Pooh." The whole thing is a dud, though I kind of like the stocking.
