Red Sabbath
By Jeffrey M. Anderson Director Paul Greengrass and actor James Nesbitt (Waking Ned Devine) re-create the events of January 30, 1972 -- upon which soldiers opened fire upon unarmed Irish protesters -- in this intense and difficult, but rewarding film. Greengrass goes with long, handheld takes and all natural sound, making it problematic to either see or hear anything that's going on. But you soon find yourself, not so much in the middle of the action, but on the sidelines, catching glimpses of the confusion, anger and frustration. You're transported to a specific time and place completely.
