Deep 'Blue'
By Jeffrey M. Anderson This deeply-felt drama tells the story of an achingly realistic teen (Agnes Bruckner) who lives with her single mother and barely keeps out of trouble. When she shows a talent for poetry, her equally lonesome teacher (David Strathairn) begins a dangerous relationship with her. Written and directed by Karen Moncrieff, the film doesn't pull any punches and follows a frightening logic, detailing just how such things can happen to good people. The disc comes with a director commentary track and deleted scenes.
