Camera Obscure
By Jeffrey M. Anderson Little Edward Furlong (Terminator 2) has grown into a paunchy, scuzzy-looking denizen in this umpteenth version of the lovers-on-the-run genre (Gun Crazy, Bonnie and Clyde, etc.) The twist here is that Jimmy (Furlong) and his beloved Judy (Rachael Bella) photograph the entire movie themselves, keeping track of their violent, sexy exploits on a video camera. Eventually they wind up at a mountain commune led by a sinister cult figure (William Sadler). Furlong and Bella generate enough heat to keep interest from flagging, but co-writers/co-directors Randall Rubin and Jon Schroder wallow anxiously in the genre conventions and, despite the gimmick, there's not much new here. DVD Details: The DVD from Anchor Bay comes with a commentary track by co-directors Rubin and Schroder, and producer Ben Kufrin, as well as deleted/extended scenes and trailers.
