El Camino: A Breaking Bad Movie (2019)
In the Pinkman
By Jeffrey M. Anderson
This feature-length film picks up where the final episode of Breaking Bad (still the greatest TV show ever produced) left off. It's almost totally unnecessary, and it feels as if virtually nothing happens during its 2 hour and 2 minute running time, but every second of it is absolutely riveting, masterful. Basically Jesse Pinkman (Aaron Paul) escapes from his captors and spends the entire movie trying to get out of town. And that's it. It feels like a modern Western, sparse and exterior, with characters occupying a vast and unfriendly space. Some old familiar faces turn up, as well as some new ones (Robert Forster, who, astonishingly passed away the day this premiered, is terrific).
