By Jeffrey M. Anderson  In order to escape her child-actress stigma, Drew Barrymore became a drug-addled teenage slut and made a series of great "B" movies that she's rarely equaled since. Released on DVD by Anchor Bay Entertainment The Amy Fisher Story was one of three trashy made-for-TV movies that aired at the same time, based on a now-forgotten early-90s sleazy tabloid story. Barrymore gives a very good performance as Fisher, the Long Island girl who tried to kill her lover's wife. The material may suck you in even as you're laughing at it. Anthony John Denison plays Joey Buttafuoco. Director Andy Tennant later directed Barrymore in the much better Ever After.
