Ou-Shoo-Bla-D
By Jeffrey M. Anderson
Famed "B"-movie director Roger Corman has made two kinds of movies: the kind on which he was an economist and the kind on which he was an artist. Carnival Rock is one of the latter. It's the sad story of an aging clown (David J. Stewart) who loses his rock 'n' roll carnival and the girl he loves to a gangster. The very talented actress Susan Cabot plays the girl, and also sings her own songs. The great Dick Miller is also on hand, as well as music by the Platters and several other forgotten, good bands. Don't miss the hold-your-breath card game, played for ownership of the carnival.
