Playboy Presents: Sex at 24 Frames per Second (2003)
Titillating
By Jeffrey M. Anderson No one but Playboy could make this straightforward history of sex in film, starting with silent peepshows, Hedy Lamarr, Mae West and the Hays Code and moving up to Basic Instinct, Showgirls and Unfaithful. Who else could get away with showing all those sex scenes? The documentary discusses America's changing attitudes towards sex over the years and how cinema re-invented itself to mesh with the changing times. Ironically, even this DVD comes in both "R" rated and "Unrated" versions.
