Unhappy Campers
By Jeffrey M. Anderson Maverick director Francois Ozon sprung onto the world scene with thistense, erotic 52-minute feature. An Englishwoman (Sasha Hails) living ina remote French beach house with her baby waits for her husband toreturn from an extended business trip. When a young, brooding femalecamper (Marina de Van) turns up and asks to sleep on the lawn, the womanbecomes fascinated with her. Ozon subtly lets on that something is notquite right here, but keeps us utterly in the dark until the finalshocking images. The disc comes with a great Ozon short film, A Summer Dress, and atrailer for his 2000 film Water Drops on Burning Rocks.
