Allan Dwan's Cattle Queen of Montana stars Barbara Stanwyck as the aptly-named Sierra Nevada Jones, who inherits her father's cattle ranch. She meets hired gun Farrell (Ronald Reagan), who is about to go to work for the evil rustler Tom McCord (Gene Evans), but he just may change his mind. The film is worth seeing for the pairing of Stanwyck and Reagan alone, even if the cornball dialogue and Reagan's poor acting sometimes get in the way. The great John Alton shot the lovely outdoor color cinematography.
