Teen Trouble
By Jeffrey M. Anderson
Naked Violence is one of cult Italian director Fernando Di Leo's best, if darkest movies. In the harrowing prologue, a classroom full of teens suddenly turns on their female teacher, tie her up, rip her clothes off, rape and kill her, all the while swigging from a bottle of putrid-looking milky white alcohol. Police detective Duca Lamberti (Pier Paolo Capponi) tries questioning the teens, but they all end up blaming one another, leaving Lamberti at square one.
After one of the teens kills himself, Lamberti and a social worker (Nieves Navarro, credited as "Susan Scott") take a drastic step. They bring another boy back to the detective's house and give him a home life (meals, baths, a bed, etc.) in the hopes that he'll crack. Di Leo presents this as a straight-ahead procedural, though gritty and unflinching with plenty of suspense. It's available in the Fernando Di Leo: The Italian Crime Collection Vol. 2 box set.
