Nosferatu the Vampyre (1979)

3 Stars (out of 4)

Klaus of Dracula

By Jeffrey M. Anderson

Werner Herzog pays tribute to F.W. Murnau's Nosferatu (1922) with this handsome, if glacially slow, production. Klaus Kinski looks creepy and sinister in the vampire makeup, and Isabelle Adjani is a beautiful Lucy. Bruno Ganz plays Jonathan. The movie was shot simultaneously in German and in English. (I saw the German version.)
